When a BLOG becomes personal

First, Happy Fourth of July my fellow Americans, even though it was yesterday, I'm sure, I mean I hope, none of you were reading blogs yesterday.

So, I've been working hard on the continuation of my movie premiere with Dad, you know taking out the real names, etc... and I began thinking on the response I've gotten, and the purpose of my telling a story that started quite some time ago.  And it occurs to me that there is some confusion, perhaps because this is considered a BLOG.  Now I know that way back (before my story started) when WEB LOGS first came on the scene, there were things like Live Journal -- which let's face it, is a way more accurate description for a personal blog.  In my mind (which as you know sees things a bit differently) most of today's blogs are more social commentary, and some really good ones are actually journalistic, they really aren't 'logs', ie: an official record of events 'captain's log' blah blah. 

So with hundreds of millions of these BLOGS invading our WWW if we categorized them...

The official journalists that work for the press that is actually recognized as press, such as AP, Reuters, etc... can keep the popular term BLOG, because let's face it.  Today's journalists need to maintain the standard as their pulpy existence fades. (this doesn't apply to tabloid writers)

Okay so then we get to Commentary or if we track it down to where the origins of BLOG came from:
Web Commentary, we get bommentary, okay I see your dismay, so let's get creative: Internet Commentary:  what it boils down to is INTERCOM. Perfection.

Now it get's personal:  There are some really great BLOGS out there that pop up to share news (both good and bad) for personal events, weddings, births, cancer, quitting smoking (which if you do you won't have to start the previous -- DAD) and then once the event is over or the movie rights have been bought the BLOG ends.  So, they are Updated accounts of happenings to keep loved ones in the loop, online, keep in touch... these are KIT posts. Or if you must get cute and keep the internet in the name:
You guessed it: KITINs

The other personal kind gets me back to one of the founders: Journal.  That would be me.  As I've stated, the point to all of my posts and my story came from my shrink, and is sort of why I'm here.  But you'll have to read all the way to end for that tidbit.  (And, by the way, this site won't go away then. As the story evolves it will be timed with my new older incarnation and real web presence.)  So, a web journal surely can't be called a b'journal, unless you're bijork.  So, we have the alternate, Internet Journal: INURNAL.  Now, I know some of you won't like being associated with a male's relieving spot.
But for me, I've come to be okay with MYstink so it suits me just fine.  And if you keep reading my story, you may be okay with it too.  See you tomorrow.
